– Catholic Herald, Rome – Pope Francis told Italy’s Tg5 he would take the coronavirus vaccine as soon as it becomes available at the Vatican.

Speaking to Mediaset Tg5 journalist Fabio Marchese Ragona, in an interview that will air in its entirety on Sunday evening at 20:40 CET on the Italian network, Pope Francis said: “I believe that, ethically, everyone must take the vaccine.”

“It is an ethical option,” Pope Francis went on to say, “because you risk your health, your life, but you also risk the lives of others.”

“Next week,” Pope Francis said, “we will start doing it here, in the Vatican, and I have booked an appointment.”

“It ‘s something one must do (It. Si deve fare),” Pope Francis said.

Tg5 published excerpts of the interview with Pope Francis along with a video trailer on the TgCom24 website. The interview will air in its entirety on Sunday evening at 20:40 CET on the Italian network, ahead of a film titled Call me Francis: The pope of the people.
