When Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez condemned the Capitol statue of St. Damien ( born Jozef De Veuster), she did so from ignorance. Sone see AOC as the future of Catholicism, but the future of the Catholic Church is not with a statue, or AOC’s bigoted projections, but with the great saint rooted in Jesus Christ, to whose image Damien was perfectly conformed.
