Back in the late 70s and early 80s, the word was that God was “doing a new thing.” Trouble was this notion contradicted all of the “old things” that God used to do but now, apparently, regretted. The error is that the terminal point of God’s unfolding Revelation is not modern Liberalism, but the rather more shocking particularity of the Absolute Singularity of a first century Galilean Jew.
