Soooo…..I’m founding a new high school!

In two weeks.

Yes, a real brick-and-mortar school!

I’ve been developing it over the past couple years, along with a handful of ambitious parents and community leaders.

It’s called Chesterton Academy of Orlando, a new classical high school, grounded in the Catholic faith, teaching the greatest books and the deepest spiritual truths from our tradition.

Our aim is not just to produce smart students, ready for college, but graduates who are wise, virtuous, and, most of all, holy. We want them to graduate in love with Christ and his Church.

Each student takes 4 years of philosophy, 4 years of Latin, and 4 years of theology, reading the Bible and Catechism cover to cover.

We pray together, celebrate the liturgical year, and our Catholic identity is central, not secondary (every teacher and staff member is a faithful Catholic who takes an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.)

Our students don’t rely primarily on modern textbooks. Instead, they read Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, Virgil, Dante, Chaucer, Shakespeare, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Teresa of Avila, Dostoyevsky. . . and, of course, G.K. Chesterton (see our curriculum here).

We teach 4 years of Math and Science, but also promote the Fine Arts. Each student takes 4 years of music, 4 years of art, and 3 years of drama. Each student learns to draw, paint, sing in the choir, act on the stage, give speeches, and engage in debate.

The result? While millions of young Catholics are leaving the Church in high school and college, our students are deepening their faith, becoming more committed and more in love with God.

They’re becoming the saints God created them to be.

Chesterton Academy of Orlando will open on August 8–yes, in two weeks!–with 27 initial students….

……but I really need your help!

To put it simply, we need money to make it happen. This is a parent-led, independent high school.

We receive no money from the government, no money from the Church, and no money from the diocese.

To accomplish this big and exciting mission, we have to raise the money ourselves.

And, so I come to you as a brother in Christ, a poor beggar, asking if you might help!

If you have benefitted from any of my work over the years, any of my books, videos, courses, or any of my free resources….please help.

If you believe our Education system is failing our kids, and you want to be part of the solution….please help.

If in 10 years you want to look back and say, “In a small but meaningful way, I did something about the Education crisis. I helped contribute to a saint-making school”….please help.

Donate to Chesterton Academy of Orlando HERE!

You can donate online (or by check, or other means). It’s easy and takes less than a minute. Just click the link for more info.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit, of course, so all donations are tax-deductible.

We have already raised a considerable amount of money from generous donors, but we are hoping to raise an additional $50,000 to cover our initial startup expenses, which are significant. These include furniture (desks, tables, chairs, bookshelves) and the initial round of book purchases (several hundred books for students).

So, please help us if you can!

Regardless of whether you are able to help financially, please say a brief prayer for our school. Ask the Lord to bless these wonderful students, teachers, and families, and that Chesterton Academy of Orlando draws many young people to Christ and his Church.

God bless you!
