According to the report, two teachers at Regis Jesuit High School were fired for poor judgment and causing scandal after they permitted the publication of an article in a student publication calling for abortion to remain legal.

One of the teachers, describing herself as a “pro-life advocate” who “frequently and fearlessly” discussed her opposition to abortion with her classes, said, “I want all students to be able to express their views, not because I agree with everything they say, but because I think that’s the best way to address their questions.”

The Archdiocese of Denver is now creating an accreditation process for diocesan and other Catholic high schools within the archdiocese to assess their Catholic identity.
