John Garvey, president of The Catholic University of America, has apologized for the school’s display of an icon that depicts George Floyd as Jesus, saying the image has created “needless controversy and confusion.” Mr. Garvey also said he has asked CUA’s School of Theology and Religious Studies to organize a conference in the spring “to explore the topic of sacred art and inculturation.”
