Two Catholic schools in St. Louis Park, one in Maplewood and one in Stillwater were listed by the Minnesota Department of Health Oct. 7 as having five or more COVID-19 infections among students and staff.

The four Catholic schools in the archdiocese on the list were Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Holy Family Academy, both in St. Louis Park, Hill-Murray in Maplewood and St. Croix Catholic in Stillwater.

There are 91 Catholic elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The four schools were among 406 public and private school buildings on the health department’s list as having multiple COVID-19 infections over a two-week period.

Overall, the health department’s weekly list of schools with COVID-19 outbreaks grew 74% Oct. 7 compared with the week before. Schools are not removed from the list until they haven’t had a new case in 28 days.
