– Catholic herald, Rome – Two cardinals have tested positive for the coronavirus, and one is hospitalised with symptoms of pneumonia.

The 57-year-old Papal Almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, is reportedly in hospital after complaining of symptoms.

78-year-old Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello is the President of the Governatorate of Vatican City, and is believed to be in self-isolation inside the Vatican after reportedly testing positive.

Cardinal Krajewski is known to have seen Pope Francis on Friday, 18 December, at the final Advent sermon offered by the preacher of the Papal Household, Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa OFM Cap.

Cardinal Krajewski reportedly spent the weekend distributing medical supply packages to Rome’s homeless.

All those who are known to have been in contact with Cardinal Krajewski are reportedly being tested, but there is no word on how many people there are, nor is there official word of whether Pope Francis is among them.
