Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin returned to the Vatican after his recent surgery.

Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, communicated this today, Dec. 14, in a message to accredited journalists.

Released from the hospital after enter the hospital on Dec. 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, for his surgery for prostatic hypertrophy, Parolin will resume his work demands.

Before taking up his service as Secretary of State, Parolin underwent an Oct. 15, 2013 surgery in his region of Veneto because of a small lesion between the gallbladder and the pancreas.
