Deacon Leonard Gruber Jr., 95, who served in three parishes over 25 years, died Nov. 24 in his native Faribault.

Ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in 1989, he served at the former St. Therese Parish in St. Paul from 1989-1996, the Native American community at Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis from 1990-1996 and at St. Dominic in Northfield from 1996-2014. He and his wife of 54 years, Muriel, were involved in several ministries, including Cursillo retreats and the Knights of Columbus.

Deacon Gruber is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

An 11 a.m. Dec. 5 funeral Mass at Divine Mercy in Faribault will be livestreamed via a link at ParkerKohlFuneralHome.com. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 a.m.

Interment with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
