In the middle of the Extraordinary Missionary Month, established by the Hoy Father, the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network has just launched Click To Pray eRosary, an intelligent Rosary that has a clear objective: to pray for peace in the world.

Click To Pray eRosary is an intelligent interactive device, which works through an application and is useful to learn to pray the Rosary. It can be used as a bracelet and is activated by making the sign of the Cross, reads a press release of the Worldwide Prayer Network.

It is synchronized with a free application of the same name, which gives access to an audio-guide, exclusive images, and personalized content on the Rosary prayer. Therefore, this spiritual proposal is within everyone’s reach.

Technological Pedagogy

Thought out to reach the peripheral borders of the digital world, where young people are, Click To Pray eRosary functions as a technological pedagogy to teach young people to pray the Rosary, to pray for peace, and to contemplate the Gospel.

Hence, this project brings together the best of the Church’s spiritual tradition and the latest advances of the technological world.

Intelligent Rosary

Physically, the device has ten consecutive Rosary beads, made with hematite and black agate, and an intelligent Cross, which stores all the technological data connected to the application.

When activated, the user has the possibility to choose between praying the standard (traditional) Rosary, a contemplative Rosary, and different types of thematic Rosaries that will be updated every year.

Once the user begins to pray, the intelligent Rosary shows his progression as he advances on the different mysteries and has a register of every Rosary prayed.

The Click to Pray Family

This intelligent Rosary belongs to the same family as Click To Pray, the official prayer application of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (in which the Holy Father has his own personal profile), which, every day, connects thousands of people worldwide to pray.

In this line, the Click To Pray eRosary will also accompany him in his daily and monthly intentions to build a world that is more identified with the Gospel.

Extraordinary Missionary Month

Moreover, this intelligent Rosary comes at a very special moment for the Church: in mid-October, in the heart of the Extraordinary Missionary Month, also established by Pope Francis through the Pontifical Mission Societies. During the celebration of the 175 years of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, he made it very clear that “the heart of the Church’s mission is prayer.”

Click to Pray eRosary is an initiative of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, a pontifical endeavor with the mission to mobilize Catholics, through prayer and action, in face of the challenges humanity faces and the Church’s mission. The Worldwide Prayer Network has produced all the special contents of this intelligent Rosary.

GadgeTek Inc. (GTI) is a technology company dedicated to innovative devices and lifestyles with operations that include the five Continents. It was responsible for the technological design of the portable device.

Launching Event

The launching of Click To Pray eRosary was held in the Holy See Press Office during a press meeting point today, October 1, 2020, at 11:00 am, attended by representatives of religious and technological media

Father Frederic Fornos, International Director of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (which includes the Eucharistic Youth Movement), was the first speaker to present the project. “The Rosary is a beautiful spiritual tradition to contemplate the Gospel with Mary; it’s a simple and humble prayer.”

In a world of indifference and in face of so many injustices, poverty, and non-recognized elementary rights, to pray for peace in the world means to reconcile ourselves with our daily relations, with the poorest, with strangers, with the different cultures, and spiritual and religious traditions, but also with our earth, our forests <and> our rivers and oceans.”

Then representatives of various institutions involved in the project addressed the audience mentioning different aspects of Click To Pray eRosary, pointing out the added value it transmits. In order, after Father Fornos, the speakers were: Monsignor Lucio Ruiz, Secretary of the Dicastery for Communication; Jerry Kao, Director of GTI; Juan della Torre, CEO and Founder of La Machi Communication for Good Causes; Father Tadeusz J. Nowak, Secretary-General of the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith (POPF); and Father Joao Chagas, responsible for the Youth Office of the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life.

After the meeting point, journalists and guests had the opportunity to try Click To Pray eRosary in a demonstration.
