Basilica Block Party ‘tuning up’ another set of musical summer treats

Mark your calendars: Headliners Sylvan Esso and Hippo Campus are among performers expected to take the stage at the 26th annual Basilica Block Party July 10-11 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis.

After a quarter-century of “rocking the basilica,” the community-building party also is bringing in performers Dermot Kennedy, Jade Bird, Courtney Marie Andrews, Tash Sultana, Sharon Van Etten, Weyes Blood, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, 26 BATS!, Bora York, The Band CAMINO, SHAED, Ripe, KALEO, half • alive, MisterWives, Nur-D, Mae Simpson Music and The Stress of Her Regard. 

The event began in 1995 as a fundraiser to help pay for restoration of the basilica. Today, proceeds benefit the Basilica Landmark, a nonprofit that helps preserve, restore and advance the historic basilica.
