Loving God in all, and above all, is all you need…

The Kingdom of God belongs to those who detach from the worldly, and trust God completely…

Pope Francis underscored this to faithful from the Middle East gathered at his weekly General Audience, this morning, Feb. 5, 2020, in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.

Francis was continuing his new series of catechesis on the Beatitudes in Matthew’s Gospel, following his last series on the Acts of the Apostles, considering the first of the eight proclamations: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 5:3).

The Holy Father underscored to the Arabic-speaking pilgrims that all they really need, “is to love God above all.”

“Dear brothers and sisters,” Francis said, “‘Blessed are the poor in spirit,’ the humble, those who live in detachment from worldly things and trust in God completely, because the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. ”

“They know,” he continued, “that everything that belongs to the Father is also theirs, so they love Him in everything and above everything, and that is enough for them. ”

Pope Francis concluded, saying: “May the Lord bless you!”
