One of my favorite days as we go to the Mount of Beatitudes for Mass. From there we drove north for an hour to Banias. Fr. Peek told his vocation story along the way. Banias is called Caesarea Philippi in the Bible where Jesus said “You are Peter and on this rock, I will build my church.” I gave my talk about the papacy.
Then we have Druze bread sandwiches in the Golan Heights before driving to the Syrian border to discuss the current situation in the Middle East.
From their back down to the Sea of Galilee to visit the site of the multiplication of loaves and fish and Primacy where Jesus appointed Peter to be the shepherd of His flock. Free afternoon, confession, swimming in the sea and dinner at the hotel.
