(ZENIT News / Mexico City, 29.098.2022).- The 14th World Congress of Families (WCF) will be held in Mexico City’s Expo Santa Fe from September 30 to October 2. Five thousand participants are expected, with face-to-face and virtual activities via streaming planned.
The Congress is an international public event, which seeks to unite and equip leaders, organizations and families to celebrate and strengthen the family as natural foundation of society. It was first held in Mexico in 2004, and then in Budapest, Hungary in 2017, in Chisinau, Moldavia in 2018 and in Verona, Italy in 2019. Heads of State, renowned experts, politicians, religious and social leaders in the realms of marriage, family and religious freedom, will attend.
The theme is based on Faith and the Social Sciences, with over 50 national and international speakers who seek the good of all persons, respecting the dignity of each one.
The general objective is “to strengthen the family to foster the integral and full development of its members,” hence the activities are differentiated by age and theme in an attractive and practical way.
The institutions that invite and summon range from Family Network, Together for Mexico (a Catholic Association) to the Church of Latter Day Saints, the Federation of Parents and Friends’ Associations of Educational Centers (FAPACE), United Family (a Catholic organization), National Christian Union, USEM Confederation, the International Organization for the Family, Global Center for Human Rights and Citizen Go.
Some of the speakers are experts, politicians, social and religious leaders on marriage, family and religious freedom.
The Congress intends to reach the whole population with clear and simple messages:
- Discovered in the family is the beauty of life and the foundation of hope for a better world
- As society, we can do more to foster the integral and full development of its members.
- We want the best for you and for your family.
“We can improve the world, family by family. Discovered in the family is the beauty of life and the foundation of the hope for a better world. As society we can do more to foster the integral and full development of all,” said Fernando Milanés, President of the 14th World Congress of Families.
