(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 20.11.2022).- On Saturday morning, November 19, the Holy Father Francis left from the Vatican heliport on a private visit to Asti, to meet with relatives on the occasion of the 90th birthday of his cousin Carla Rabezzana.
After lunching with the family in Portocomaro, at 3:30 pm the Pope visited a nearby rest and hospitality home for the elderly. Then he travelled to Tigliole, in the San Carlo village, to visit another cousin, Delia Gai.
On Sunday, November 20, at 11:00 am, the Pontiff presided over the Holy Mass in the Cathedral of Asti, on the occasion of the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. It was from this Diocesan Community that his parents left to emigrate to Argentina.
At the end of the Eucharistic Celebration, Pope Francis led the praying of the Angelus with the faithful and pilgrims. After praying the Angelus and the final Blessing, the Holy Father went to Episcopio for lunch. In the afternoon he went by car to Asti’s Censin Bosia Municipal
Stadium, from where he left to return to the Vatican.
