(ZENIT News / Washington, 08.10.2022).- On Monday, October 3, EWTN published a poll carried out by the Trafalgar Group – RealClearPolitics on the Catholic confessional vote regarding American President Joe Biden and his eventual candidature in 2024 for a second term. In fact, Biden is facing challenges in the November elections. The survey shows that Catholic voters, including Hispanic Catholics, are not happy with the Biden Administration. The Catholic electorate is worried about inflation and the state of the economy, and about education in the post-COVID era.
How do they assess Biden’s performance as President?
53% of Catholic voters disapprove of his performance and only 46% approve of it. 58% of Catholics are against Biden running for a second term and 22% would vote for his re-election. In this rubric, 67% of Catholic voters are against Trump running for a second term, and 27% would vote for him.
The survey shows that Democrats are running behind the Republicans in the elections for Congress. 49% of the Catholic electorate would vote for a Republican candidate and 45% for a Democrat.
75% of Catholics that go to Mass once a week or more often disapprove of the Biden Administration and 53% of those that go less frequently to Mass approve of it.
