In an interview, Prof. Budziszewski says, “I had first encountered Thomas Aquinas, along with Dante Alighieri, Augustine of Hippo, and others, while I was still in the nihilist wasteland. St. Thomas wasn’t a thin but a thick moral realist, in whom I found ringing affirmation that the general principles of the natural law are the same for everyone ‘both as to rectitude and as to knowledge.’”
