In a bid to help curb Italy’s rising COVID infection rate, a bishop in Campania has decided to ban priests, religious, and lay people who have not been vaccinated from distributing Communion at Mass. Bishop Giacomo Cirulli made the decision after learning that in his dioceses there were 11,815 new COVID cases and five new COVID-related deaths on just the previous day.
