Pope Francis’s meeting with a top member of the Russian Orthodox Church Wednesday was yet another step forward in the planning process for a second meeting with Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill, which sources say will likely happen next year. The pope and the patriarch first met briefly in Havana in 2016.
