Twenty-six years ago Tom Monaghan of Dominos Pizza asked me to be on his Ave Maria Foundation Board. In the next few years, we established Ave Maria University, Sister of Mary Mother of the Eucharist Mother House, Credo Newspaper, Thomas More Foundation, and more. One of the most important entities we started was Ave Maria Radio.
Last weekend we celebrated 25 years on the air. It has grown, developed, spread its wings and flourished – moving from just radio, to video, podcasts, websites and more.
All of this was under the direction of Al Kresta the CEO and Mike Jones the General Manager and their whole staff. EWTN carries Ave Maria Radio programming all over the world and we have affiliate stations across America.
The celebration was a grand affair and well attended. Al Kresta and his family and staff provided a rousing musical performance, Deal Hudson gave a talk along with Al’s critique of our modern culture. Lots of fun for the kids, a tribute to Nick Thomm, loads of priests and sisters, and food and drink everywhere.
In the short video below you see lots of the show hosts including Teresa Tomeo and Vanessa Denha-Garmo dancing, Al Kresta on guitar, Dr. Greg Popcak on left keyboard, Nick Kresta on drums, Dr. Ray Guarendi on right keyboard, and Deacon Tom Loewe on harmonica.
Continue to support the efforts of Ave Maria Radio and visit their website to donate, read great articles and blogs, video commentaries like the one below and much more. A great resource plus they sponsor and work with us on all our pilgrimages.
