Israel, Palestine must recognize each other’s rights to exist, says Jerusalem Patriarch (Exaudi)

Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin-rite Patriarch of Jerusalem, has decried the violence between Israel and Palestine, saying that both sides are making only “short-term political calculations.” To end the conflict, he said: “The first thing is that they have to recognize one another’s existence and so talk to each other; something that at this moment is not happening.”
