Bethlehem lit up its Christmas tree, but without the usual crowds, as coronavirus restrictions put a damper on the start of Christmas festivities in the city of Christ's birth.

Due to COVID-19 and decreased tourism, the solemnity will be subdued this year in Jesus’ birthplace.
