HE Mr. Seiji Okada, Ambassador of Japan to the Holy See was born on June 2, 1956. He is married and has two children.
Graduated in Law (Meiji University)1979. He held the following positions: Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1981); Director of the Japan – South Korea Economic Affairs Division, Directorate General for Asia and Oceania (2006); Regional Coordinator, Second Division of Africa, Department of African Affairs, Directorate-General for Middle Eastern and African Affairs (2007); Director of the Second Division of Africa, Department of African Affairs, Directorate General of Middle Eastern and African Affairs (2008); Counselor, Embassy in Kenya (2009); Counselor, Embassy in Afghanistan (2010); Consul General in Canada (Vancouver) (2012); Deputy Director-General Department of African Affairs, Directorate General for Middle Eastern and African Affairs and Directorate General for International Cooperation (2016); Ambassador to South Sudan (2017 – 2020).
