One of our contributors on the topic of sacred music, Massimo Scapin (whose articles you can see right here), is among the many men and women who are losing their full time jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Massimo writes:
Dear Steve,
Due to the financial impact of COVID 19, my current position has been eliminated effective July 1st. You can only imagine the stress I and my family of seven must be under, after more than two years working and living in South Carolina. How can I travel back to Rome, my hometown in Italy, now?
On the basis of my qualifications and prior experience in the noble art of sacred music I am searching for a position as choirmaster and organist.
My resume is here and some video links about me are here. In the field of sacred music, my ten-year job as Assistant Music Director at the Sistine Chapel Choir and, from July 2019 onwards, that one of Resident Composer for the same choir are noteworthy.
Music is always needed in the life of the Church, and I’m confident that the Lord will find a place for me. Please keep me in your prayers.
Since our audience is uniquely likely to know of a position for a man of Massimo’s unique talents, I wanted to share this with all of you. If you know of a parish looking for a choirmaster and organist, please contact Massimo and let him know at massimoscapin (at) gmail (dot) com.
And please, let’s all keep each other in prayer. I’m in a position to help Massimo because of the nature of his work, but many members of our audience are no doubt facing similar difficulties.
